Obituary of Valeria L. Mahan
Valeria L. Mahan, 98, of Lawrenceville, passed away peacefully into eternal life on Friday, June 7, 2019.
Valeria was a lifelong resident of Lawrenceville. She attended Lawrenceville Public School and graduated from Princeton High School in 1938. Valeria was a lifetime member of The Church of St. Ann. She was very active in the PTA, St. Ann Altar Rosary Society and the American Legion Post #414 Ladies Auxiliary. Valeria loved sewing, cooking, baking and tending to her flower gardens. Moments spent with family were most precious to her.
Predeceased by her parents Roy and Helen Ketterer Loveless; her husband of 61 years Joseph M. Mahan, Sr., her brother Harry Loveless; she is survived by two sons Joseph M. Mahan, Jr. and Dr. John P. Mahan and his wife Christina; two daughters Kathleen Mazzaco, Barbara Famiglietti and her husband Dr. Peter Famiglietti; eleven grandchildren Eileen (Jeffrey) Williams, Kristin Sargent, Jonathan (Beth) Mahan, Marielle, Michael and Isabel Mahan, Felicia (Richard) Kay, Michele (Todd) Christensen, Leah (Scott) Bessette, and Peter and Paul Famiglietti; nine great-grandchildren, her brother Nicholas R. Loveless, and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to her long term caregiver Beverly Daniels.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 11:00AM at The Church of St. Ann 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
Entombment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Hamilton.
The viewing for Valeria will be held on Tuesday morning from 9:30-11:00AM in the daily chapel at the church.
