Obituary of James Filipowicz, Jr.
James Filipowicz, Jr., 43, loving son, brother, and uncle of Lawrenceville, passed away Monday, May 6, 2019.
Born in Trenton, NJ, he was a resident of Lawrenceville most of his life. Jim graduated from Lawrence High School and went on to get his Bachelor’s degree from Trenton State College. Jim loved to travel and his most memorable trip was to Puerto Rico. He was an avid tennis fan and traveled to the US Open every chance he could. He loved playing but only by his rules because by his own admission he was no very good at it. He also loved classic movies and TV and had an extended collection of memorabilia. Jim was employed by the NJ Division of Taxation at the time of his passing.
He is predeceased by his father, James J., John and Eileen his paternal grandparents, and John and Ruth Brosky, his maternal grandparents. He is survived by his mother Ruthann, with whom he resided; his sister Susan, nephew Christopher and niece Caitlyn; two great-nephews, Hunter and Jaxson; numerous cousins and his best friend and sidekick, Bailey, his chocolate lab.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 15th at 10:00 am at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
At the family’s request interment will be private.
Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday morning from 9:00 AM until time of the service at the funeral home.
