Obituary of Louis Balestrieri, Sr.
Louis Balestrieri, 72, of Lawrenceville, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Merwick Care and Rehab Center, Plainsboro, NJ.
Born in Princeton, NJ, he formerly resided in the Philippines before moving to Lawrenceville 44 years ago. Louis is a Vietnam Veteran, having proudly and honorably served his country with the US Air Force. He retired from NJ American Water in 2012 after 38 years of service. Louis was a parishioner at The Church of St. Ann and a member of the Mercer Burlington Bowling Association and he was inducted into their Hall of Fame. He enjoyed coaching Junior Bowlers and traveled to National Bowling Championships throughout the country. While in the Philippines, he volunteered countless hours of his time and was given a key to the city.
Predeceased by his parents Raffaele and Mary Balestrieri; brother of the late Sal Balestrieri, husband of the late Josefa “Josie” Balestrieri; he is survived by his children, Louis Balestrieri, Jr., Mary Balestrieri, Alicia Balestrieri Fusco and her husband Anthony Fusco, Jr. and Lisa Balestrieri; her grandchildren, Raffaele Dalmacio Balestrieri, Isabella Lee Balestrieri and Anthony Fusco, III; his sister-in-law Susan Balestrieri, his sisters and brother-in-law Kathleen Ratcliffe and Rosemarie Novak and husband John his brothers-in-law, Rolando, Richard and Mahal Baguio; his sister-in-law, Expedita Baguio, and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will begin on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 9AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM a The Church of St. Ann 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
Interment will follow at St. Hedwig Cemetery, Ewing Twp.
The viewing for Louis will be held on Monday evening from 6-8PM and again on Tuesday morning from 8-9AM at the funeral home.
