Obituary of Alvena Snedeker
Alvena D. Snedeker, 86, of Kidder Township, PA and formerly of Lawrenceville died peacefully on Thursday at Greenwood House in Ewing.
Born in Trenton she resided in Lawrenceville for many years prior to her moving to Kidder Township over 30 years ago. She volunteered at Helene Fuld Medical Center for 10 years and served as a Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary and also served on the Board of Governors. While a resident of Kidder Township she also volunteered for 7 years at the White Haven Center. Alvena loved her home in the mountains and enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters and family.
Daughter of the late Louis and Margaret Jones, wife of the late Clifford W. Snedeker, mother-in-law of the late Regina Snedeker and sister of the late Louis Jones, Jr., Robert Jones and Raymond Jones she is survived by her sons, Clifford W. Snedeker and wife Arlene and David Snedeker; her grandchildren Adrien Dickerson and husband Adam, Mary Snedeker Ridgeway and husband Dennis, Jessica Peterson and husband Michael and Alexis Snedeker; her great-grandchildren Simon Dickerson and Benjamin Peterson and her dear friend Myrtle Coxon.
Funeral services for Alvena will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville with the Rev. Ophelia Laughlin of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Ewing Church Cemetery.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held on Tuesday from 9 AM until time of services at the funeral home.
