Obituary of Richard Steven Pelcz
Richard Steven Pelcz, 77, of Lawrenceville died peacefully at home on Friday January 11, 2019 surrounded by his family.
Born in Ewing Township, Rick was a resident of Lawrenceville for the past 54 years. He retired in 1996 after 26 years of service with the Lawrence Township Police Department holding the rank of lieutenant.
Rick was an avid hunter and also enjoyed playing golf, restoring pinball machines, working on automobiles and electronics especially radios. But, he got his most enjoyment spending time with his family.
He was a member of the Lawrence Township Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 209 and the New Jersey Retired Police and Fireman’s Association.
Son of the late Sandor and Anna Wargo Pelcz he is survived by his wife Charlotte Babecki Pelcz; his son Douglas Pelcz; his grandsons Trevor and Tyler Pelcz; his brother Arthur Pelcz and his wife Mary and his sister Dolores Wiedmann.
Funeral services for Rick will be held on Thursday, January 17 at 11 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday evening from 4 to 7 PM and again on Thursday morning from 10 AM until time of services at the funeral home.
