Jeanine Guerrier Châtelain, 92, of Princeton, NJ, passed on peacefully at home on December 2, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.

Jeanine was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and emigrated to the United States in 1970 at the age of 40. She graduated from L’école Externat la Providence and worked as a seamstress and homemaker in Haiti. Upon arriving to the US, Jeanine worked at Princeton Medical Center. Jeanine was an active member of the St. Paul’s Catholic Church and cherished tending to her grandchildren. She loved fashion, travel, and spending time with her family and friends.

Jeanine was predeceased by her parents, Brenice Coubat and Normelie Guerrier, her husband, Ernest Châtelain, and her sons-in-law, Bellegarde Dorival and Claude Champagne. She is survived by her daughters: Colette Dorival Clark (m. Kenneth), Marie Edeline Champagne, Yseult Léger (m. Yves), and Kettly Dougé. She is also survived by her fourteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, two godchildren and many more loving family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 11 am at Our Lady of Sorrows, 3816 East State St. Ext. Hamilton, NJ 08619.

Entombment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery.

Calling hours are Friday morning from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Rd. Rt. 206 Lawrenceville, New Jersey 08648.
