My fondest memories are of the summers spent with Uncle Larry and our cousins Drew, Alan, Eric and Matt at the lake. Although I haven't seen him in years I think of him often and reflect on the good times and memories. Although his passing saddens me I am happy that he is not suffering and believe he is in a better place. My condolences go out to my cousins and Elizabeth.
Love, Jeff

Like a good book with many chapters, Dad’s 81 years of life impacted so many along the way, with many different chapters. As a father with 4 growing young boys, he was a great role model and taught us well in so many ways. He instilled in us strong morals and work ethic, as well as sharing his passions and interests with the family. We learned to fly planes, repair, restore and enjoy cars, boats, motorcycles and bicycles. Dad also provided encouragement and support to pursue our own passions and dreams. He touched and inspired so many over the years, through his love of antique cars and bikes.
While the later chapters of Dads life were challenged by the stroke, he remained strong, positive and encouraging to all around him. In these later years there was still much to learn from my father, as he displayed dignity, courage, strength and happiness every day. Character and traits that Gail, Lindsay, Abby and I all came to know and respect over the years.
God Bless, and Rest in Peace
Alan, Gail, Lindsay and Abigail

Hearing of Uncle Larry’s passing brought back many fond memories. My mind travels back to the days of Ship Bottom and Keuka Lake. The family times were filled with fun and many of those were because of Uncle Larry. Old cars, mini bike riding, Dad and Uncle Larry out on the lake in the old Century inboard, corn roasts, beach fires, uproarious laughter and during the slower times of the day you could always count on Poppy to be looking for his next “victim” to pull his finger! I remember Uncle Larry having his car loaded with more to go back to NJ than what he came with because he and Aunt Susan would buy antiques while up here on vacation. Such awesome memories!!! All of us are SO lucky to have had such a wonderful childhood. Thank you Uncle Larry for playing such a huge part in all of it.

Some of my best childhood memories and experiences were from Uncle Larry and our whole Davala family. First airplane ride AND upside down; first high wheel bicycle ride; and first car show in a 1933 Buick which we won! Uncle Larry said I was his NY lucky charm, but I think it was the days of waxing and detailing that did it!
Memories at the Lake with all of our cousins and body surfing at the shore; Uncle Larry and my NJ family helped to shape me and I will cherish those memories dearly.
Uncle Larry is in a better place, but we share our deepest sympathies with our whole Davala Family in NJ.
Love,
Barry Hafer (Davala)

I have worked with Larry for over 8 years and they were the best years of my entire career. He treated me like a son with respect and guidance which I truly needed on occasion. I cherished the years knowing him as a friend and will always smile when I think of him. My love goes to his wife BJ and all of the other’s that knew him. He will be missed.

Soooooooooo many GREAT memories of Keuka Lake and LBI (Surf City) FAMILY vacations. Also Birthdays and major events !!!!
If the world today took a lesson from how close our family was in those days, it would be a far better place.
Miss you Uncle "Scratch" Larry :(
