Obituary of Gloria Beatrice Griffith
Gloria Beatrice Griffith, 92, of Robbinsville died peacefully on Friday July 6, 2018 at St. Mary’s Assisted Living at Morris Hall in Lawrenceville, NJ with her devoted daughter by her side.
Born and raised in Newark, NJ she resided in Linden and Basking Ridge most of her life prior to her move to Robbinsville several years ago. Gloria attended Barringer High School and Washington School for Secretaries before obtaining employment with the Griffith Piano Company where she met her beloved husband. Later on in her career she was a secretary with the L’Oreal Cosmetic Company in Clark, NJ prior to her retirement.
Daughter of the late Nicholas Amato dePaola and Edith Carter dePaolo, wife of the late Paul Griffith, sister of the late Carter de Paul and Angela Falcetta and Gloria’s late canine companion Lancelot, she is survived by her daughter Paulette Kampe and her husband Robert, her granddaughters Kristin Kampe and Jenifer Antretter and her husband Andrew, her devoted caregivers Emily and especially Marie and her extended family at St. Mary’s Assisted Living.
A devoted catholic her entire life she held a special devotion to the Blessed Mother and as such was a Rosarian for most of her life. She was ever thankful for the support of the religious community, her friends and health care aides while a resident at St. Mary’s Assisted Living.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel at Morris Hall. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Newark, NJ in her mother’s Carter family lot whose lineage dates back to the Mayflower descendants.
