Obituary of Lisa J. Lau
Lisa Jane Lau, born on March 29, 1957 in York, PA was called home to our Lord on June 22, 2018.
Lisa was a graduate of Ewing High School, New Jersey and Ultrasound Diagnostics School in Pennsylvania. She enjoyed working at Olive garden Restaurant and as a Medical Assistant for local Cardiologists. Additionally, she was a compassionate volunteer at Lower Bucks Hospital. Lisa enjoyed all types of music, especially oldies and going to concerts at Ocean Grove and along the Bristol Waterfront. She was very creative and enjoyed shopping. She consistently made or found the most unique items as perfect gifts. Lisa always thought of others before herself. She liked to send cards or arrive with “Just a little something I picked up.” Lisa recently celebrated 29 years with Alcoholics Anonymous and nearly 8 years with Nicotine Anonymous. During that time, she received and provided much inspiration, strength and wisdom. Moreover, she formed and cherished many enduring friendships. Lisa was deeply spiritual, and she had a special fondness for Saint Jude. She would encourage anyone who is struggling to seek help, as you are not alone, you are loved, and it can get better.
Predeceased by many dear friends, her grandparents and her father Dale H. Lau; left to cherish her memory are her special love Eric Viereck and his family; Lisa’s mother Geraldine Lau; her sisters Cheryl (Joe) Brown, Marsha Lau (Cindy Engler); her niece Lora (Scott) Kaczor and their children Zach and Chaz Kaczor; her nephew Jason (Meghan) Perkins and their children Jayce and Bryce Perkins and many relatives throughout Pennsylvania; also missing Lisa are her many friends and her cats Spirit and Rose.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation and thanks to all the doctors, nurses, clergy, and support staff at the University of Pennsylvania who provided outstanding care with exceptional compassion. Additional thanks to Lisa’s care givers and counselors throughout the years including her sponsors and friends in AA and Nic-A.
