Obituary of Joyce L. Smith

Joyce L. Smith, 80, of Ewing Twp., passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 17, 2018.

Born in Trenton, NJ, she was a longtime area resident. Joyce retired from Lawrence Township Schools.  She was also employed with Lawrence Cleaners for 25 years.  Some of her hobbies included knitting, flowers and trips to Maui.  She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Daughter of the late Walter and Myrtle Cheeseman; wife of the late John W. Smith; mother-in-law of the late Karen Brown, mother of the late David Smith and Paul Brown; she is survived by her children Deborah Burke (Richard Spencer), Richard A. and Jane Smith and Craig and Liz Smith; her grandchildren Zachary Brown (Michelle Groff), Martin J. Burke, IV (Mary Otto), Joyce Burke, Brian Smith, Christine Mecca, Richard J. Smith and Rachel Smith; her great-grandchildren Zachary Brown, Jr., Martin J. Burke, V, Leona, Jayden, Daryin, Carson, Gabriel and Ardin; two brothers Jack and Earl Cheeseman; her nieces Diane Clark and Karen Williams.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 21, 2018 at 11:00AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.

Interment will follow at Rosedale Memorial Park, Bensalem, PA.

Relatives and friends can call on Monday morning from 10:00AM until the time of the services at the funeral home.
