Obituary of Marie Karatka

Marie Karatka, 94, of Lawrenceville, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 23, 2018 at Compassionate Care Hospice @ Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Hamilton.

Born in Trenton, NJ, she was a resident of Lawrenceville for 65 years. Marie was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and “GG Mom” as she was affectionately known by her great-grandchildren.  She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.

Daughter of the late William J. and Anna C. Carlin; sister of the late Dorothy Misiakowski, Anna Pasquito, William Carlin and David Carlin, wife of the late Joseph Karatka; she is survived by her children and their spouses,  Joan Nuhn and her husband Dennis,  Joseph Karatka and his wife Kathleen and  Christine Karatka; her grandchildren Christopher Nuhn, Lauren Nuhn, Joseph and Tatiana Karatka, Jeffrey and Ashley Karatka, Jeremy Karatka, John and Amanda Karatka, James Karatka, and Amy Karatka; her great-grandchildren Emily, Liam, Ella, Dylan, Westley, Constance and Avery; her sister-in-law Mary Adams and several nieces and nephews.

Marie’s family wishes to thank her caretakers Darlene and Rita for their care over the past few months and also the staff of Compassionate Care Hospice.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 12:00Noon at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.

Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Mausoleum, Hamilton.

Relatives and friends may call on Friday morning from 10:00AM to 12:00Noon at the funeral home.
