Obituary of Samuel J. Arnone

Samuel J. ‘Seabee Sam” Arnone, 93, of Hamilton and formerly of Lawrenceville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 with his loving family by his side. Born in Trenton, NJ, he resided in Lawrenceville most of his life and for the past year with his daughter Rosemary, Ralph and his wife Connie in Mercerville. Samuel enlisted in the U.S. Navy & was a Seabee from 1941-1945. He was employed at Gould National Battery (GNB) from 1951–1989 as a Materials Manager. In 2011 his grandson Glenn opened Quakerbridge Pharmacy and Sam had the pleasure of working there until he retired at 90 years old. He was fondly known as "Seabee Sam" to all the customers. Samuel was a lifelong parishioner and the head usher at St. James Church. He was a former member of the Holy Name Society and Senior Citizen Group. Predeceased by his parents, Antonio and Angeline Arnone, brother Peter (Connie) Arnone, sisters Rose (Joe) Sessa, Phyllis (Tony) DiPietro and Mary Gervasio; he is survived by his wife of 68 years, Connie (LaBrutte), daughters Rosemary Sudnick (Ralph), Rita Cream, grandson Glenn (Brigid) and one great grandson, his namesake Samuel Sudnick, brother John (Caia) Arnone, sister Carmella (Walter) Ross, brother-in-law Steve (Aida) LaBrutte, brother-in-law Pat Gervasio sister-in-law Rosemary LaBrutte and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will begin on Monday morning at 9:00AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM at St. James Church 29, East Paul Avenue, Trenton, NJ 08638. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ. Visitation hours will be held on Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 3-5PM at the funeral home.
