David G. Wald, 76, of Ewing, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Skilled Nursing Center, Lawrenceville.

Born and raised in Trenton, NJ, he resided in Ewing for the past 43 years. He was a graduate of Trenton Catholic High School Class of 1959 and began working for the State of New Jersey in the Secretary of State’s Office in Trenton, NJ. He worked there until 1965, when he became employed by Superior Title Search and Abstract Company, located on State Street in Trenton, NJ. He was a title searcher, a judgment searcher and reviewed foreclosure proceedings for the issuance of abstracts and certificates of regularity for Title Insuring Companies throughout the State of New Jersey and worked for Superior Title until 1985, when the company was taken over by Superior Legal Services Corp. His duties at Superior Legal included the review of foreclosure proceedings, including In Rem Tax Foreclosures, In Personam Tax Foreclosures, Residential Mortgage Foreclosures and Commercial Mortgage Foreclosures for law firms throughout the State of New Jersey. David also attended Sheriff Sales in Mercer County, representing the plaintiff’s interests in foreclosure actions and retired from Superior Legal in 2008. In his younger years, David was an outstanding athlete and played baseball and basketball in numerous leagues in the Trenton area. He was an avid bowler and later in life a very good golfer. He was a Phillies season ticket holder for many years and made numerous trips to Spring Training in Clearwater to see the Fightin Phils. He was an Eagles fan and was thrilled to finally see them win the Super Bowl. He enjoyed reading and was always active taking daily walks. One of his favorite things was his weekly lunches with his crew of friends at Mastoris Diner. He would spend time talking about sports and sharing stories and jokes with Jay, Jerry and Ritchie and reminiscing about their younger years. Dave had many friends from his time at the Secretary of State and Superior Legal and kept in touch with many of them. He was a parishioner at St. James Roman Catholic Church, where he became head usher and was involved in the Rosary Club and other various activities. Most of all David was dedicated to his family.
