I came to know Gary late in his life. From speaking with Gary, I knew bits of pieces of his background, including highly distinguished work career and athletic career -- football and baseball -- as a youngster. No question he accomplished a lot in his time. From my interactions with him, I assume he led his life as a gentleman from start to finish. I am glad I crossed paths with Gary. I'll miss him. And I offer sincere condolences to family members.

Gary was a super guy. Working with him professionally years ago was a great and helpful experience. .He was always on top of all the ills and problems of the correction system. He
did his best to modernize the "mess".
He became a great friend and a wonderful, caring and
loving family man.
My condolences to the family.
