Carol L. Southard McTamney, 58, of Trenton, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at home. Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong area resident. Carol was employed as an Administrative Assistant with the State of New Jersey. She was a parishioner at St. Raphael’s-Holy Angels Parish. Carol enjoyed spending time with her family especially her children and grandchildren. Daughter of the late Walter E. Southard; she is survived by her mother Mary Southard; her children Nicole, Michele and Anthony Povia; two grandchildren Lawrence and Isabelle Bernhard; one sister Susan Southard, three brothers and sisters-in-law Alphonse and Lisa Southard, Samuel and Lynn Southard and Walter and Olga Southard; her husband Gerald McTamney; her step children Erin and Jeremy McTamney and Leigh Povia; her former spouse and lifelong friend William Povia, III.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM on Monday, December 18, 2017 at St. Raphael’s-Holy Angels Parish 3500 South Broad St., Hamilton, New Jersey 08610 Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamilton. Visitation hours for Carol will be held on Monday, December 18, 2017 from 8:30-10:00AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. Due to floral restrictions with the cemetery, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.
