Agnes A. Oleksy of Lawrence Township died in hospice care on Saturday morning October 28, 2107 at Arcadia Nursing Home Hamilton Square, NJ.
Born in Newark, and was a resident of Madison, Union and Princeton area of New Jersey in her retirement years. Agnes was a Matron in the Eastern Star, Manhattan District, NYC, New York and wife of RW Alexander J Oleksy, 33rd degree, both trustees for the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital in Boston and Philadelphia. Agnes was an Officer and Treasurer of several Anderson family businesses. Anderson Overhead Doors a commercial and residential overhead door manufacturer and distributor of garage doors, with offices in Boston, Manhattan, New York City and Union. The Overbon Corporation. a builder and developer and landlord of 3 prestigious office buildings in Union, New Jersey. The Imperial House of Beauty and Spa, a fine establishment for hair, nails and spa treatments. In her retirement years, she was a book keeper for her son Stephen at A1 Door Corporation, a commercial garage door and repair installation company in Elizabeth, NJ. An Office Manager for her son Richard at Bridgepoint Nurseries Inc., Belle Mead, New Jersey, a wholesale/retail nursery selling fine quality plants, trees and flowers along with Christmas trees.
Still keeping busy in her eighty's she helped out in the Kitchen of Abel Bagel, Princeton, New Jersey for her daughter and son- in-law, Patricia and Alfred Kahn. Agnes was the matriarch of the Anderson clan and oldest surviving member at 93. Agnes was the first of 11 children of Harry and Emily Anderson. There are over 250 members of the Anderson clan with many new arrivals this year and still growing. Agnes lived a busy life of caring for and entertaining family, hosting weekends at Lake Wallenpaupak, PA, many family reunions and parties over the years. Also 10 square dance Ho Downs at the family farm in Belle Mead, NJ. Agnes and Alex traveled extensively throughout the USA and 13 countries in the Caribbean. She lived a fulfilling life with Alex and both were an inspiration to all. They will be sorely missed but their aspirations will live on in their offspring for generations to come.
Daughter of the late Harry N. and Emily Anderson of Irvington ,Madison and Union New Jersey and her predeceased husband RW Alexander J Oleksy, 33rd degree ;she is survived by her daughter and son in law Patricia and Alfred Kahn, two sons Stephen A. and his wife Kathleen, and Richard A Oleksy, six grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
A bedside service was held for her and cremation followed.
