Elizabeth F. McQueen, 86, of Ewing passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 12, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Trenton, Elizabeth was raised and lived in Ewing until 1996 when she and her husband retired to Tampa Florida and just recently returned to reside in Ewing.
A graduate of Trenton High School and Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois Elizabeth was a school teacher at the Lanning Elementary School in Ewing for 28 years until her retirement in 1994. While a resident of Ewing she was a member of Central Baptist Church and was a volunteer at Mercer Medical Center. While residing in Tampa she was a member of the Tampa Bay Presbyterian Church and volunteered at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. But the most important thing to Elizabeth was her devotion to her grandchildren.
Daughter of the late Norman and Margaret Fields Fleming and mother of the late Deborah McQueen, Elizabeth is survived by her loving husband, Bobby L. McQueen, her children, Glenn McQueen and his wife Patricia of Ewing and Robert McQueen and his husband Rob Martens of Hamilton; also surviving is her sister, Sally Hartfield of Tampa and her grandchildren, Kaitlyn McQueen of Forked River, Kerri McQueen of Hightstown, Samantha McQueen of Ewing, Kyle McQueen of Hamilton and Chad McQueen of Ewing and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services for Elizabeth will be held on Monday at 11 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors 650 Lawrence Road Lawrenceville with the Rev. Richard Gay, Senior Pastor of Central: A Christ-Centered Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Ewing Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call on Monday from 10 AM until time of services at the funeral home.
