John Derling Burke, 63, of Lawrenceville, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2017. Born in Princeton, John was a lifelong resident of Lawrenceville. He was a graduate of Lawrence High School. John was a Vietnam Veteran, having proudly served his country with the US Navy. Some of his hobbies included riding his Harley Davidson, fishing and playing poker. Son of the late John B. Burke; husband of the late Cynthia Burke; he is survived by his son William Burke; his mother Delores Burke; two sisters and brothers-in-law Holly and Brad Hafner, and Jennifer and Jeff Buller; his brothers and sisters-in-law Douglas Burke, Timothy and Brenda Burke, Matthew Burke; three nieces Rebecca Gilliland (Matthew), Victoria Harrelson (Drew) and Jennifer Reardon (Michael); his nephew Shane Burke; two great-nephews Daniel and Drew. Relatives and friends can call for John on Monday, July 17, 2017 from 5-8PM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. Funeral services will be held at 7:00PM with Pastor Jeffrey Vamos, officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in John’s memory to the Lawrenceville Fire Company Relief Fund, 64 Phillips Avenue, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
