The big question is weather he was best as an engine driver or comedian / storyteller ? Always a pleasure to work and laugh with, one of the "Good Guys" on the department !

My deepest sympathy in the loss of Bob. He was a true asset to the TFD. Bob was always willing to help and a pleasure to meet up with. He gave his all to both God and Country and will be missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace in Post Everlasting. May the Good Lord give you strength and courage to carry on in the days ahead without Bob. God Bless You All.

Dear Mrs. Devine and Family,
We have known each other since before kindergarten. We played together, we attended the same grammar school and have our fair share of fun. I am deeply sorrowed to read the paper today as that's how we, meaning my mom and dad found out. I remember your dad sponsoring a trip to his fire department in Trenton. I remember how he loved his motorcycle riding it even before his surgery on his hip. I remember his concern when I hit a parked car, that was your mom's. I remember everything and feel a total loss as he loved his dogs, he loved his family, and he loved his wife and kids. we are like family, but I will not be able to attend the viewing or funeral as I doubt my job would allow me to go. Jim, be a good son to your mom, even though you always are as he was proud of your children and Bob's children. i don't know what else to say to alleviate the pain, but always remember I love you all, even if we do not see each other as much as we would like to.

My deepest and heart filled sympathy go out to Cousin Rita and the family. My Mom always talked very highly of Cousin Bobby. Many times she would tell me about the fun she had as a kid going together with him to the Hamilton Theater and the two of them spending the day watching newsreels, cartoons and of course the main attraction. The way my Mom spoke so highly of those memories, I wouldn't be at all surprised if the two of them are not at this very moment sitting in Heaven's Theater catching up on some of those memories. God bless!
