Joseph L.Garruba, 85, of Robbinsville, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Compassionate Care Hospice, Hamilton, NJ. Born in Trenton, NJ, he was a resident of Robbinsville for 47 years. Joseph is a Veteran of the Korean Conflict, having honorably served his country with the US Army. During his time in combat, he was a staff sergeant with the military police. Joseph was a partner of Holiday Motors in Trenton. He was a lifelong member of St. James Parish. His passions were fishing in Canada, hunting in Pennsylvania, raising homing pigeons, water skiing, going to the casinos and watching New York Yankees baseball and New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles football. Son of the late Christopher and Josephine Garruba; he is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Mildred Garruba; his daughter and son-in-law Christine and Keith Roughgarden; two brothers and three sisters-in-law Lou and Mary Garruba, James and Mary Garruba and Ann Demuzio; several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 11AM at Incarnation-St. James Parish 29, East Paul Avenue, Trenton, NJ 08638. Interment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ. Relatives and friends can call for Joseph on Friday morning from 8:30-10:00AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. Due to floral restrictions with the cemetery, the family is requesting memorial donations be made to the National Parkinson’s Foundation 200 SE 1st Street Suite 800 Miami, FL 33131
