Robert W. Stark, 72, passed away suddenly on June 5 at Capital Health System at Fuld in Trenton. Born in Trenton, Bob was a resident of Lawrence Township all his life. He was a graduate of Trenton High School and Trenton Vocational School, where he trained to be a master sheet metal mechanic. Bob was formerly employed by New Brunswick Scientific in Edison where he was a foreman for 32 years before retiring in 2001. He also had been employed part-time for Finkel's Hardware in Lambertville. Bob received his military training at Camp Drum in upstate New York. He served over 10 years with the New Jersey National Guard 112th Field Artillery Group in Lawrence Township. In his younger years, he umpired American Legion and Babe Ruth baseball teams. Bob enjoyed having his own lawn service and home repairs business for over 25 years. He was an avid fan of sports and enjoyed following the Philadelphia Eagles, 76ers, Phillies and NASCAR auto racing. When he was younger, he was also in a bowling league. Son of the late Gustave R. and Mary C. Raisner Stark, he is survived by his sister, Mary Joan Huse and her husband Walter of Morrisville, PA; and his two nieces, Karen A. Johnson and her husband Reed of Doylestown, PA and Bonnie L. Huse of Morrisville, PA. He is also survived by his longtime family friends, the Gronert family of Lawrence Township, and good friend, Phyllis Schaediger of Ewing. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville with the Rev. Nina Reeder, pastor of the Lawrence Road Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Ewing Cemetery. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
