William C. Dalton, 87, of Lawrenceville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at home.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, Bill was a resident of Lawrenceville for 53 years. He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict, having proudly served his country with the US Army. Bill retired from US Airways, where he was employed as a pilot for many years. He was a parishioner at The Church of St. Ann. Some of Bill’s achievements was being the first commercial pilot to bring a flight to Trenton-Mercer Airport with US Air and flying in the Daily Mail Trans-Atlantic race from New York City to London. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, pilot and friend.
Son of the late William and Martha Dalton; he is survived by his loving wife Catherine J. Dalton; four children William, Timothy, Daniel and Cathy; five grandchildren Daniel, Caitlyn, Will, Peter and Nick Dalton; his sister Helen Sapio and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 Noon on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at The Church of St. Ann 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
Interment will be private.
Relatives and friends can gather on Tuesday morning from 11-12 Noon in the daily chapel at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Gift of Life-Family House 401 Callowhill Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123-4018.
