Obituary of Sandra S. Carter

Please share a memory of Sandra to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Sandra Carter, 82, was a longtime resident of Lawrenceville, NJ until recently moving to Wilmington, Delaware. She was born in Paoli, Kansas to Ruth Elliott and Claire Wren. When Sandra was 10years of age, her mother passed away and her father became unwell. Dear family friends, Charlie and Peg MaGee, of Independence, Kansas, cared well for her, ultimately adopted her and loved her as much as any parent could love a child. Sandra was a devoted mother to her own two children, Lisa and Chris. Chris was a great source of joy and pride before he died way too soon at age 23. Lisa was able to love and enjoy Sandra throughout her life and offer support when needed in the end. Sandra quickly became “Mom” to Lisa’s husband, Marc Felizzi and the most adoring “Grammy” to their two children, Christopher and Carter “CJ” Felizzi. In addition to her family, Sandy’s true passion and hobby were the many friends she had over the years. There was no favor or gesture of kindness too big to give. She was known for her big heart and quick wit. She was the homeroom mom, fieldtrip mom, the neighbor that would watch your house while you were gone; stocking the fridge with goodies and essentials, the friend you would call for problem-solving and advice. She was a second mom to her children’s friends. Sandy was blessed to live and raise her family on Lawnside Drive in Lawrenceville amongst many wonderful people who remained longtime friends. She moved around the corner Brookshire Apartments in 2004 and was again blessed with great, great friends. As health declined, she moved to the Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Delaware, near her daughter, where the care and kindness she received was extraordinary. She was the recipient of true love and regard wherever she went. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. Calling hours will be held from 11AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will be held privately at Ewing Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials donations can be made to The American Lung Association, www.lung.org
