Ellen Hargreaves, 84, of Lawrenceville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Serenity Hospice Unit at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.

Born in Chevy Chase, MD, she was a longtime resident of Lawrence Twp.  Ellen is a retiree of Blue Cross & Blue Shield, where she was a Health Insurance Specialist.  She was a parishioner at The Church of St. Ann for many years.  In addition to being an avid reader, Ellen loved playing cards, and visiting the casinos.

Daughter of the late James and Elinore Brophy; wife of the late William E. Hargreaves; sister of the late Mary Anne Miller, James Brophy, Joseph Brophy, Frank Brophy, Jane Thompson, and Mark Brophy; she is survived by her siblings Matthew and Sharon Brophy, Joan Brophy, Kathleen Tackacs, Julia Brophy, Anastasia and Russell Snyder, and many nieces and nephews; her dearest friends Loraine and Bob  Merkle, Mary Ann Van Camp, and Anthony Hannawacker.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 13, 2026 at 10:30AM at The Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.

Entombment will be held at St. Mary’s Mausoleum, Hamilton.

The visitation for Ellen will be held on Friday morning from 10-10:30AM at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Ellen’s memory to The Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
