Michele “Michael” Catalano,86, of Trenton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Termini Imerese, Sicily, Italy, he immigrated to the United States in 1972. Michele is a retiree of the Lawrence Township Board of Education, where he was employed as a custodian for many years. He was a parishioner at St. James Church for 49 years and also a member of the St. Calogero Society. Some of his hobbies included making his famous pastries, cooking, and he enjoyed playing soccer. he touched the lives of so many people that they fondly will be remembered as their own surrogate father and grandfather.
Son of the late Michele and Rosa Catalano, brother of the late Guisisepino (Guispina) Catalano, and Salvatori Catalano, brother-in-law of the late Pierro Randazzo, Felice Amari, and Giocchonno and Guispinna Amari he is survived by his wife Rosa Amari Catalano; his daughter and son-in-law Rosa and Donald Kennedy, his son and daughter-in-law Joseph and Jennifer Catalano; his grandchildren Taylor and Michael Kennedy, Hailey (Luis) Flores, Ashley, Morgan, and Mia Catalano; his great-granddaughter Saylor Jo; his brother and sisters-in-law Augustino (Giovanna) Catalano, and Carmela Catalano; his sister Teresa Randazzo, his sisters-in-law Anna Amari; brother-in-law Calogero (Cathy) Amari; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE VISITATION, MASS AND BURIAL HAVE BEEN POSTPONED TO WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 2025.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 11:00AM at Incarnation - St. James Parish, 1545 Pennington Road, Ewing, NJ 08638.
Interment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ.
The visitation will be held on Wednesday morning from 8:30-10:30AM at Poulson &Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Michele’s memory to Parkinsons Research Foundation
