Obituary of Cheryl T. Karuzis

Cheryl T. Karuzis (née Tremble), 65, of Lawrenceville, NJ, entered peacefully into rest on January 31, 2026 after a courageous battle with MASH.

She grew up in North Arlington, NJ. Her organization and eye for detail helped her thrive while working as a bookkeeper. After moving to Lawrenceville in 1998, she worked at the Chapin School and the Lawrenceville School.

She loved the ocean and marine life, and cherished her experiences connecting with an orca and swimming with dolphins. She delighted in spending time with friends in Wildwood and vacationing with her husband in Hawaii, Aruba, Jamaica, and Barbados.  She enjoyed crafts, especially as a young mom. Videochatting with her young granddaughter made her smile. She was a devoted, caring, and supportive wife, mother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Cheryl is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Stan, her daughter Valerie (Steve Smith), her “little Sweet Pea" (granddaughter Hazel), and her brother James Tremble (Amy). She is preceded in death by her parents Louis (Lou) C. Tremble and Anna (Lorraine) Tremble.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 11:00AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.

Visitations for family and friends will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026 from 6 to 8 PM, and Saturday morning from 10 to 11 AM at the funeral home.

Per her wishes, her cremains will be placed into an artificial reef in the ocean, to be one with dolphins and other sea life.
