Valerie Hope Bojarski (nee Brodowski), passed from this earth on Friday, November 28, 2025 at the age of 79 years.
A resident of Princeton, New Jersey, Valerie lived in the Lawrenceville and Princeton area all her life. She also maintained vacation residences in Venice Beach, Florida, and Bar Harbor, Maine, where she enjoyed many wonderful times with her family.
She was the wife of John Edmund Bojarski, Jr., to whom she was married for 57 years. She was the daughter of the late Catherine and Raymond Brodowski, and sister of the late Lois Piet, Joyce Brodowski Myers, and Kathleen Brodowski. She is survived by her brother Bruce Brodowski; her cherished sons Dr. Jonathan D. Bojarski and wife Ren of Providence, Rhode Island, and Justin C. Bojarski and wife Sara of Princeton, New Jersey; six grandchildren Aila, Tatsuya Oliver, and Kazuya Nathan Bojarski of Providence, Rhode Island; Mayzie Paige, Shepherd Shaw, and Chase Jordan Bojarski of Princeton, New Jersey. In addition, she is survived by her beloved goddaughter Meredith Piet, and many nieces and nephews.
A graduate of Notre Dame High School, Valerie received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education and Master of Arts Degree in Counseling from the College of New Jersey, along with doctoral work in Education Administration from Temple University. She also received her Juris Doctor Degree from Temple University School of Law, and was a member of the bar in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She also held a New Jersey Real Estate License.
Valerie spent her junior year of college abroad studying at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. As an attorney, she was invited to and participated in the Oxford Round Table at Oxford University, England.
Employed by the Hamilton Township Board of Education for over forty years, she retired in 2009. During that time, she was Vice Principal of Grice Middle School, having also served as teacher and guidance counselor at many of the schools in the township. She was instrumental in piloting the Elementary Guidance Program in the district. She was presented with the Human Rights Advocate of the Year Award, the Governor’s Teaching Award, the Mission Kindness Award, and Lifetime PTA Award.
Valerie was a member of the New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association, the Garden State Storytellers’ League, the International Association of Torch Clubs, Phi Delta Kappa Education Fraternity, the Lawrence Historical Society, and the Roebling Museum Society.
Over the years, Valerie and her family traveled extensively in the U.S., Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. She enjoyed creative writing of stories, plays, poetry, haiku, and gardening. She loved caring for her many animal friends whom she nurtured every day.
Valerie considered her family her greatest blessing, and spending time with them her greatest pleasure. Her favorite quotation in this regard was that of Anne Morrow Lindbergh: “Only love can be divided endlessly and still not diminish.”
At her request, funeral services will be held privately with only family in attendance. Arrangements are under the direction of Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors.
