Catherine A. McKelvey, 83, of Hamilton, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 5, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Greenock, Scotland, she was a longtime resident of Hamilton. Cathy is a retiree of the Hamilton Township Board of Education Facilities Department, where she was an administrative assistant. She was a longtime foundation member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians Monsignor Crean Division, member of the Sons & Daughters of Erin, and a member of the Original St. Patrick Parade and Scholarship Committee.
Daughter of the late Daniel and Mary Knox; she is survived by her loving husband Vincent McKelvey; her brother and sisters-in-law James and Julie Knox, and Daniel and Joanne Knox; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Donald and MaryAnn McKelvey, and Robert and Connie McKelvey; her nieces and nephews Lisa and Michael Seiler, Kelly Knox, Jim and Marty Knox, Daniel and Joanne Knox, Joe and Christie Knox, Casey and Austin Robins, Donald Jr. and Andrea McKelvey, Shawn and Kim McKelvey, and Robert McKelvey; her good friends Debbie Potkay, and Anna and Joe Portella; and will be missed by her great nieces and nephews and many close friends
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at 11:00AM at The Parish of Our Lady of Sorrows, 3800 East State Street Ext., Hamilton, NJ 08619.
Interment will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ.
A visitation for Catherine will be held on Wednesday evening from 4-7PM and again on Thursday morning from 9-10AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Catherine’s memory to Ancient Order of Hibernians Monsignor Crean Division 2419 Kuser Road, Hamilton, NJ 08690.
