Daniel M. Markowski, of Newtown, Pennsylvania and formerly Lawrenceville, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 26th, 2025.
Born in Trenton and raised in Lawrenceville, Dan was a graduate of Notre Dame High School. He continued his education at Belmont Abbey College, earning a degree in Political Science. While at Belmont Abbey, Dan discovered what would become one of the great passions of his life—golf—after joining the Golf Club.
Following college, Dan served as an intelligence agent in the Air National Guard. He continued to work alongside his father at the family business, Alma Offset Printing Company, where he led sales and marketing and ultimately retired as president after 50 years.
Dan was a man of many talents and interests. An avid sports enthusiast, he also had a deep appreciation for music and played the guitar, banjo, and harmonica. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting trips with his father, uncle, and other family members. His love of the outdoors took him on fly-fishing adventures from the Bahamas to the distant waters of Christmas Island. At home, he found peace fishing and crabbing on his boat in Barnegat Bay.
For over 45 years, his beach house on Long Beach Island became a beloved gathering place he shared with family and friends. Countless memories have been created there, each one a testament to Dan’s generosity and legacy.
Golf remained a steadfast passion throughout Dan's life. He traveled widely to play prestigious courses in South Carolina, Arizona, Mexico, Bermuda, and the world-renowned Pebble Beach. He was a member of Trenton Country Club before becoming one of the original members of Old York Country Club, his “second home.” There he won numerous tournaments, including Club Champion. Dan often said, “Golf is the barometer of life,” believing that when your golf game was good, life tended to follow.
Dan was predeceased by his father, M. Michael; his mother, Theresa (née Swartz); and his brother, James. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Bosco; his cherished stepson, Corey Liebowitz; his sister, Maryan Hargraves (Larry); his brothers, Richard (Eileen) and Michael (Karen); his nieces and nephew Jaclyn Rossi (Michael and their children), Jamie Hargraves, and Brandon Hargraves, as well as many cousins, golfing buddies and good friends.
A Celebration of Dan's Life will follow at a later date.
