Robert “Bob” Nemec, 94, of Ewing, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, November 14, 2025, with his children by his side. 

Born in Philadelphia, Bob graduated from Olney High School and proudly served his country in the Army. He later earned his degree from Rider College in Lawrenceville, NJ. He began his career as a Safety Engineer with U.S. Steel in Manhattan, but in 1963, he followed his entrepreneurial spirit and purchased a hardware store in West Trenton, NJ. Over the years, Bob expanded the business—relocating to a larger space in 1968 and later constructed a new store and rental business in 1986. In the mid-80’s, his sons, Robert and Tom, joined him in running the store. After more than five decades, Bob retired in 2020 at the age of 89.

Bob was the son of the late Anthony and Bessie (Slezak) Nemec, and brother to the late Alice (Nemec) Vandegrift. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 66 years, Edna (Ryan) Nemec. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Mary Alice and Thomas J. Dwyer of West Chester, PA; his sons and daughters-in-law, Robert A. and Lynn Nemec of Titusville, and Thomas J. and Monika Nemec of Ewing. Bob was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren and will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews.

Bob lived with quiet strength and unwavering integrity. Whether he was helping a customer at the hardware store, tending his garden at the shore, or sharing stories with his family, he brought warmth, patience, and purpose to everything he did. He built more than a business- he built a legacy of hard work, generosity and family. His love for Edna, his children, and his grandchildren were the source of his deepest joy and pride.

A visitation for Bob will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025 from 12-2PM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
