Cora Marie Gernhart, 93, of Lawrenceville, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 10, 2025 at Lawrence Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Lawrenceville.

Born in Trenton, NJ, Marie as she was affectionately known was a lifelong resident of Lawrence Twp.  Marie is a retiree of the Ben Franklin School, where she was the secretary for the principal.  She enjoyed welcoming her friends and family to her home on weekends, going out to eat and camping at Distelfink Campground.  Marie was at her happiest when she was with her husband Bob and when spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Daughter of the late John and Cora Flynn, wife of the late Robert Gernhart; she is survived by four daughters and two sons-in-law Kathy and Dale Robbins, Jackee Lenarski, Bobbee Kasony and Judy and Ed Shade; her grandchildren Dawn and Rob Santello, Tim and Chrissy Kasony, Kelly and Eric St. Clair, Cliff Morichelli, Terri and Dave Higgins, Kristi and Ryan Ohnmacht, Mark and Melissa Lenarski, and Todd and Stephanie Lenarski; her great-grandchildren Cara, Kylee and Chase Longo, Liam St. Clair, Haley and Katelyn Santello, Austin and Jenna Kasony, Parker Kasony, Aubrey Higgins, Emily and Jameson Ohnmacht, Mae and Maura Lenarski, Jordan Melendez, Madison and Brinley Lenarski; her brother John Flynn; her brother-in-law Steve Hornyak; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at 11:00AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.

Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ.

The visitation for Marie will be held on Tuesday afternoon from 5-7PM and again on Wednesday morning from 10-11AM at the funeral home.

Marie’s family wishes to thank the nurses, caring staff at Lawrence Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, and Affinity Hospice for their care and support.
