Q: What will you never forget about Rolando?
A: I was shocked and saddened upon learning of your passing. You never failed to smile, catch my attention and share your thoughts and time. You are a person who was deep and so full of substance. You are like the “kuya” or elder brother I never had. Rest in Peace dear Rolly, you are safely home with the angels in heaven.

Kuya Rolly is a very kind hearted person who was always helping everyone at work. We worked together in the Consular section of the US Embassy. You always called me ading which means little sister in Ilocano. Rest in peace kuya Rolly, you will always remain in my ❤️.

Q: What will you never forget about Rolando?
A: I will never forget all the fun and laughter he provided every time we had family gatherings. He always told stories of his encounters with my dad while he was growing up. He lent funny twists to the stories that made them so endearing and memorable. He will be greatly missed and our family gatherings will never be the same again. Thanks for the love, laughter and memories.
Rest easy Kuya Rolly. I’m sure it will be a riot when you see my dad again. And when my time comes, I would love to hear all about it.

There is a profound sadness in our hearts knowing that we won't see his sweet smile, listen to his punchline when sharing a joke, eating his pickled mango and feeling the genuine friendship he had always shown us all these years. We will miss Kuya Rolly but we will never forget him because his memory will linger in our hearts....... always.

We were so saddened to hear of your passing. It's so difficult to loose someone so dear to us.We may have known you for a short time, but we already felt the closeness and warmth of your friendship. We are grateful, my sister Marivic and I for the advice and support you have extended us for our US Visa application. It may take us a minute to say “hello” but forever to say “goodbye” to a man so generous and self-giving. Thank you for the sympathy flowers you gave to our Tatay. It has bloomed so beautifully in our garden which will remind us of you, giving comfort and joy to our Nanay too. You will always be remembered.

Kuya Rolly has always been a very sweet and caring big brother to me and my siblings. We are all girls in the family so when Ate Arlene married Kuya Ding, we had the joy of being a part of their extended family. I owe him my career and my life as I migrated here in the USA. I have a lot of people to be grateful for as I established myself in a new land. He played a crucial role in getting me scheduled for the consul interview and assisting with my visa late into the night the day before my flight. I will never forget how stressful it was and how he was there for emotional reassurance “Oning, kaya mo yan!! Todohan mo na ng Ingles”. I was merely 22 years old and it was nerve wracking!! I can’t remember the questions but I know he was there the whole time for support. Kuya Rolly will always be a part of us. He will always live in our memories. I will forever be grateful. “It is not the length of life, but depth of life.”-R. W. Emerson.

Rest in peace, Rolly. We will miss you terribly. Thanks for all the laughs. And memories. The world is dimmer now that you’re gone. The world lost a great spirit! Thanks for always remembering me on all holidays and always treating me as a real aunt. Our hearts are grieving. Love, Tita Arlene
