
Obituary of David J. Novak
David Novak, 66, of Lawrenceville, NJ, a devout Catholic, passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at his home.
Born in Fort Monmouth, NJ, David was a longtime resident of Perth Amboy where he and his family became fixtures of the local community through their operation of the Victory Inn before moving the Lawrenceville.
David was a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University (B.S. in Psychology), where he met his beloved wife, Michele. They shared 38 years of marriage.
He began his career with the American Red Cross, dedicating himself to service both at home and abroad. He played a vital role in providing relief to families affected by natural and man-made disasters, most notably when he was assigned to direct the response to the 2001 Gujarat earthquake (magnitude 7.7) in Bhuj, India, near the Pakistan border.
Later in life, David transitioned into financial services, working as a Financial Advisor until his retirement from Fidelity Investments in 2024.
A passionate outdoorsman, David loved fishing, hunting, camping, and spending time in nature with his three sons. He was also an avid New York Giants and Penn State Nittany Lions football fan.
David was the son of the late Albert and Mary Novak, and brother of the late Kenneth and Albert “Iggy” Novak. He is survived by his devoted wife, Michele Novak; his three sons, David A., Stephen D., and Michael A. Novak; and five cherished grandchildren: Owen, Madison, Russell, Brooke Novak, and Jackson Baldwin. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Sharon Akers and Christine Novak.
Funeral services will be held privately with the immediate family.
