Obituary of Ronald E. Kraemer

Ronald E. Kraemer, age 89, of Lawrenceville, NJ, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025.  Ron, as he was known by family and friends, was born in Trenton on August 17, 1935, to the late Carl J. Kraemer, Sr. and Sophia Baran Kraemer.

Ron, a lifelong area resident, grew up in Hamilton, NJ and was a graduate of Hamilton High, class of ’58.  He completed undergraduate studies at Alliance College in PA and graduate degrees at The College of New Jersey (formerly Trenton State).  He was employed in Hamilton as a teacher, soccer coach, first Director of Hamilton Adult School, and Vice-Principal spanning 36 years.

Ron met the love of his life and best friend, Sonia (Sunny), in college and they were married for 66 years.  They raised their sons Ron and Rick in Lawrenceville, and he enjoyed following his sons through their athletic journeys.

Ron loved soccer, baseball, basketball and golf, and claimed his hole-in-one at the Lawrenceville School Golf Club.  Upon retirement, he and Sunny travelled the world, entertained family and friends on Long Beach Island, spent precious time with granddaughters Kelsey and Olivia, and volunteered at St. Lawrence Rehab, McCarter Theater and Princeton University.

Predeceased by his parents and his brothers Carl, Jr. and Wayne, he is survived by his wife and sons Ron, Jr. and Rick (Carole), granddaughters Kelsey and her husband Jacob Juhler, Olivia Kraemer, and precious great-granddaughter Sofia Juhler.  He is also survived by his sister Judy (Frank) Grouser, sister-in-law Joan Kraemer, and #1 Aunt Alfarata Nugent, and numerous nephews and nieces.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 11 am at The Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Rd, Lawrenceville. Visitation will precede the Mass from 9 am to 11 am at the church.  Interment will be at Lawrenceville Cemetery, 3001 Lawrence Road.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ron’s memory to the Sunshine Foundation Mercer County or a charity of your choice.
