Obituary of Kathi L. Morley

Please share a memory of Kathi to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

June 26, 1946 - May 30, 2025

Kathi passed away peacefully May 30, 2025, after a 10-year battle with Alzheimer's.

Kathi was born in Lock Haven, PA, and later moved to Doylestown, PA with her family and graduated from Central Bucks High School (now Central Bucks West). She graduated from Gwynedd Mercy College (now Gwynedd Mercy University) and worked in the Office of Superintendent Bucks County Schools.

She met the love of her life, Jim, at a mixer at Delaware Valley College and they married in 1968. Jim’s enlistment in the Navy moved them all over the Unites States. They lived in Vallejo, CA, Idaho Falls, ID, New London, CT, Portsmouth NH, and Newport, RI. During this time their two children were born. Following Jim’s discharge from the Navy, the family moved to New Jersey, first to East Windsor, then Princeton, before settling down in Lawrenceville.

Kathi began her career in the typing pool at Gallup & Robinson. She then became the secretary to the Pastor of Nassau Presbyterian Church and after being certified, became the first Church Administrator for Nassau Presbyterian. Kathi then worked for the Center of Theological Inquiry as the Center Administrator, then as Assistant to the Director at the Boggs Center, and finally as an Administrator at Mercer Street Friends. Kathi was active in the National Association of Church Administrators having served as Vice President and two terms as President. Her career allowed her, and Jim, to travel across the United States and the World making many friends in far-flung locations along the way and led to many impromptu dinner parties at their house with theological scholars from CTI.

Kathi was active in several church parishes throughout her life.  She was active in the PTA, including a term as President at St. Paul’s (Princeton) while her children attended school there. She volunteered as an adult leader for the CRASH club youth group at St. James (Pennington). She served as Eucharistic Minister at multiple parishes which included taking Holy Communion to the sick and shut in. In addition, Kathi assisted in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and CCD, helping prepare young people for their First Holy Communion and Confirmation. She loved to sing and was a member of the Adult and Resurrection Choirs at the Church of St. Ann (Lawrenceville), as well as serving on the parish council there.

Kathi loved dogs. She and Jim were adopted by one mixed breed and four retired racing greyhounds. They also fostered greyhounds looking for their forever homes and provided short term care for dogs whose people needed assistance. It was not unusual to find three or four dogs in their house.

Kathi was predeceased by her parents William F. and Josephine (Mitchell) Kohler.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, James L, daughter Kristy L. Morley and her wife Barbara A. Williams, son Kevin C. Morley and granddaughter Rose R. Morley, as well as her brother William F. Kohler Jr. (Kim Yua), and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and very dear friends.

The family would like to thank the staff of SYNERGY HomeCare (especially Angel), The Meadows of Lawrence and Affinity Care Hospice for the wonderful care and support that they gave to Kathi and our family.
