Pamela A. Nugent, 72, passed into the Lord’s arms on May 15 2025.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Gene A. Nugent. Pamela is also survived by her loving daughter, Christine P. Green and her life companion Carl Wesolowski. She had one grandson, John (Jack) M. Green, who was the love of her life even before his birth. She is also survived by her beloved brother and “sister”-in-law, James M. and Deborah A. Dickson, her niece and goddaughter, Jennifer M. Dickson and her husband, Noah Tankin and her only Godson, Aidan Verga. Denisse, Esvin, Julli, and Little Pam, her name sake, were part of her chosen family.
Family was the most important aspect of her life. She and her beloved husband were High School sweethearts and were married for 51 happy years. You never saw one without the other. Her only daughter, Chrissy, was with her continually throughout her life. Their relationship was not only mother/daughter but best friend. Chrissy lived with her parents later in their lives to be their caretakers. Pamela watched her grandson, Jack grow into a wonderful young man. This was her goal in life! As his Grammie, she was so very proud of him, as a person and his many accomplishments.
Pamela was a member of Princeton United Methodist Church where she was active over many years. She was a Sunday school teacher, Superintendent of Children’s Education, Vacation Bible School Coordinator and Altar Flower Coordinator. Her church family was very important to her.
She retired from Lawrence Township School’s after 23 years of service to education. Her first educational experience began at MacFarland Junior School, Bordentown City Schools teaching English. She also taught Mathematics at Allentown High School where she set-up their inaugural Freshman Learning Community. While at all schools, she was not only teacher but, Student Council Advisor, Newspaper Advisor, Yearbook Advisor, Drama Coach, and Special Coordinator for Events.
During her career, she was extremely active in her local Educational Associations. She was Treasurer for 3 years as well as a negotiator for the Bordentown Teacher’s Education Association. That involvement continued throughout her employment in Lawrence Township. Again she served as Treasurer for 8 years, Recording Secretary 1 year, Scholarship Chair for 8 years and Chief Negotiator for 4 years for Lawrence Township Education Association. She enjoyed serving her fellow members of the Education Community.
Pamela’s love of music began as a young girl and continued until her passing. She was a pianist and piano teacher. The Arts were her passion. Her hobbies included: knitting, crewel embroidery, and crafts of all types. There were always various genres of music being played in her home.
Poodles were her passion and an essential part of her entire life; having owned her first poodle at age 10. She always had a miniature poodle either by her side or on her lap. Her beloved poodles were: GiGi, Sir Lancelot, Sir Galahad du Loc, Oliver Twist at Heritage, and The Midnight Star. Only once did she stray from poodle ownership to include a Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Trapper John, MD to her beloved pet ownership. She was a member of The Poodle Club of the Leigh Valley.
Charities held a special part of her heart. So much so that she taught her students in Lawrence to contribute hundreds of dollars to: The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Sunshine Foundation, World War II Monument in Washington, DC, Lawrence Twp. Main Street Foundation, and the SPCA. Pamela believed strongly that young people needed to learn to give back to their community. She passed this love of giving onto each of her students over the years. Pamela was a member of The Contempory Club and Children’s Home Society both of Trenton.
