Obituary of Gail Sylvia Martinetti

Lawrenceville, NJ – Gail Sylvia Martinetti, 76, passed away surrounded by her loving family, on April 5, 2025, following a lengthy illness.  Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was a longtime area resident.  Gail graduated from Hamilton High School and Rider University, and she retired from Princeton University, after 32 years of service. 

A devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, Gail enjoyed spending time with her family.  She was an active member of The Church of Saint Ann in Lawrenceville.  An avid golfer, she was a member of the Princeton Country Club Women’s Golf League, where she served as Treasurer and was an active volunteer in the Play for Pink fundraiser.  An accomplished runner, she finished second in her class in the First Trenton Marathon.  She especially enjoyed vacationing with her grandchildren and playing golf in the Pocono Mountains. She also enjoyed traveling to California and Europe.  She went to Italy with Global Volunteers and taught English to Italian school children.  She had a passion for word puzzles, reading English literature and watching Masterpiece Theater.

Daughter of the late Jack and Dorothy Feinberg, Gail is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Richard Martinetti,  a son and daughter-in-law Paul and Margaret Martinetti, a daughter and son-in-law Jill and Michael Smith and five grandchildren Michaela, Jeremy, Justin, Mia and Louis.  She is also survived by a brother-in-law Raymond Martinetti, a sister-in-law Elaine Hogan, a friend Diane Ferro and cousins, nieces and nephews in the local area and Los Angeles. 

The visitation for Gail will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 10-11AM at The Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.   A Mass of Chrisitan Burial will immediately follow at 11:00AM

Interment will be in Saint Mary’s Cemetery, 1200 Cedar Lane, Hamilton N.J. 08610. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gail’s name to the American Cancer Society.
