
Obituary of Margaret Paul
Margaret (Peggy) Paul passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025. Her daughter Colleen Harrison and granddaughter Olivia Harrison were with her. A long-time resident of Lawrence Township, NJ, she was a parishioner at The Church of Saint Ann, Lawrenceville, NJ, where she was an active member of the choir. She was also a member of the Princeton Folk Music Society and retired from Springdale Golf Club, Princeton, New Jersey, where she served as House Manager for many years.
Margaret was born in 1931 in Brooklyn, New York, where she resided with her family until she was four years-old, when her family returned to Ireland. She had crossed the Atlantic three times by that point. She grew up in Fairtown, County Cavan, Ireland, and in 1946 graduated from Cavan Technical School in Cavan, Ireland where she learned to speak fluent Gaelic and received her Certificate in Business. Margaret made her final return to the United States in 1955 at the age of 24 and visited Ireland many times over the rest of her life.
Predeceased by her brothers, Nicholas Smith and Thomas Smith and sisters, Helen Long and Kathleen Smith. Margaret is survived by her son, Douglas G. Paul; daughters Brenda M. Paul, Margaret A. Avery (Brandon) and Colleen A. Harrison (David); granddaughters Valerie M. Avery (Patrick Graham) and Olivia K. Harrison.
Funeral services will be private.
