Obituary of Jerrold E. Brecko, Sr.

Jerrold Edward Brecko Sr., 70, of Lawrenceville passed peacefully on March 12, 2025 following a lengthy illness. 

He was born in Trenton, NJ and was a lifelong area resident.  Jerry retired from General Motors, where he worked for years in several capacities. He later worked at Princeton University in the Grounds Department. But his happiest times were the years spent managing a horse farm in Hopewell, NJ, his true home.  Jerry’s life was meant to be spent outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling. He was a member of the American Legion and proud Army veteran.

Jerrold was predeceased by his parents, John Brecko and Catherine Fournier Brecko and his grandson, Parker Brecko; he is survived by his wife, Cynthia Blanchard Brecko; two sons, Jerrold Brecko Jr. and Michael Brecko (Noelle Ott); grandchildren, Jocelyn Brecko Ramirez, Ellie Brecko, Conner Brecko and Ethan Fava; brothers, Joseph Brecko of Orlando, FL, John Brecko (Mary Anne Brecko) of Naples, FL, and James Brecko of Lawrenceville, NJ, who was at Jerry’s side throughout his illness; his sister-in-law Deborah Larsen; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 10-12Noon at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrenceville Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.  Funeral services will follow at 12:00 Noon. 

Inurnment will be held privately.
