Obituary of Irvin Miller
Irvin Miller of Lawrenceville passed away on February 18, 2025 at the age of 91. He was a proud member of the United State Army, serving time during the Korean conflict, which he honored throughout his life by wearing his signature Korea veteran hat.
He grew up in the Strawberry Mansion section of Philadelphia, where he spent his time walking to Connie Mack Stadium to take in games of his beloved Philadelphia Phillies. It was during this time that he cultivated a love of sports, which led to a decades-long career of being an umpire, as a member of the .Philadelphia Umpire Association for both baseball and softball. He was lucky to witness not just one, but two Eagles Super Bowl wins.
In addition to his love of sports, Irv was also a huge cinephile. He was always quick to share movie trivia, an interest of which spanned several genres. In his later years, he also became a voracious reader, spending his time in local bookshops and libraries in the Princeton area.
He also spent his life working in various Philadelphia newspaper print rooms, including the Philadelphia Inquirer, and was a proud member of the Teamsters Union.
Irv is predeceased by his parents, Harry and Jean Miller, and his beloved wife, Janet.
