
Obituary of Helen P. Balla
Helen P. Balla, 99, of Mercerville, passed away on Saturday February 15, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Trenton, NJ, Helen lived in Mercerville, NJ for the last 18 years of her wonderful life.
Daughter of the late Paul Nerwinski and Sophie Lukaszeska. Helen is predeceased by her husband, William J. Balla, her granddaughter Jessica Masterson, and many of her twelve siblings. Helen is survived by her three daughters: Lorraine Fuhrmann and husband Bill, Cynthia Masterson and husband Ed, Christine Murawski and husband Dave; five grandchildren, Jennifer Heuisler and husband Chip, Alison Lalli and husband Jim, Edward Masterson and wife Brittany, Kevin Murawski and wife Brooke, Michael Murawski and wife Katie; nine great-grandchildren: Anna Helen and Mary Balla Heuisler, William and Emma Lalli, Landon, Decker, and Beau Masterson, Greer and Penn Murawski, her sister, Anne Nerwinski, and her brother Frank Nerwinski. Helen will be missed by all who loved her including her nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
A role model for her family, Helen lived by simple rules: work hard, be kind, and have faith.
Helen was an avid reader, a lifelong sports fan, loyal to the Phillies, a nightly Jeopardy couch competitor, a card player, and visitor to many, many casinos. Helen loved traveling, but of all the trips she took, she most looked forward to family reunions in Wildwood, NJ and Hilton Head Island, SC. Helen greatly cherished her time with family; always ready for fun and laughter.
The visitation for Helen will be held on Saturday February 22, 2025, from 9:30-10:45 AM at the Church of St. Ann located at 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM.
Burial will be private
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Mount Carmel Guild, Trenton, NJ, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
