Obituary of Robert Steven Esbrandt
Robert Steven "Bob" Esbrandt, 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, in Evesham, New Jersey.
Born on November 3, 1938, to Alexander and Marie Esbrandt, Bob was the cherished only son who enjoyed a wonderful childhood in Trenton, NJ. He attended Trenton Catholic High School and spent time at Rider College. Bob met the love of his life, Barbara, at a Donnelly Homes dance, beginning a beautiful 70-year journey together, including 65 years of marriage. Their courtship was filled with joy and dancing, even taking them to American Bandstand.
Bob proudly served in the Army. Trained at Fort Dix, NJ, and Fort Gordon, GA. Later he joined the NJ National Guard and received his 2nd Lieutenant Bars. He and Barbara raised their family in Yardville, NJ, where they were active in the community, mentoring youth at the local Civic Association and coaching Hamilton Township Youth football. His career brought them to Chesterfield, VA, where they formed lasting friendships before retiring to Southampton, NJ, to be near their children.
A man of great work ethic, Bob owned a carpet installation business and a vacuum cleaner repair shop before spending over 20 years as a supervisor at Carter-Wallace. In his free time, he was an avid fisherman and hunter who delighted in teaching children how to fish. He loved traveling to the Caribbean islands, London, cruising the seas, and many trips to Maine to fish and eat lobster.
Bob’s greatest joy was celebrating holidays and special occasions with family. His laughter, storytelling, and warm smile made everyone feel special. Even during his illness, he enjoyed trips to his favorite restaurants and the Seaside Boardwalk.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife Barbara; daughter Pamela Esbrandt and wife Danielle; son Vincent Esbrandt and girlfriend Sue Mesday; sister-in-law Joann Williams and family; cousins Carol Ragolia and Ronald Tola and their families.
