Please share a memory of Ivette to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Ivette Santiago-Green, Esq. Born on February 28, 1965 in Queens, NY, she passed quietly at home in Lawrenceville, NJ the morning of February 20, 2021. Ivette's journey was an amazing and inspirational one characterized by deep caring for and service to loved ones and community. She brightened spaces with her charm, cheerfulness, and beauty, and was filled with humility and empathy. Her passions included religious service, community service, fine art, gardening, cooking, craftwork, reading, and romantic comedies. Ivette's brilliant mind and persistent drive led her to become valedictorian of her high school class. She earned a Princeton University liberal arts degree, and Rutgers University School of Law juris doctorate. Ivette crafted an impactful career as a compassionate defense attorney; diversity, inclusion and equity leader; court executive; religious leader; and community leader. Justice was not only a profession, but a principled cornerstone of her life. Balancing her family's well-being with achieving important professional milestones was hugely admirable. Ivette became a premier mother, wife, daughter, sister, spiritual advisor, friend, leader, colleague, mentor, and community servant. The mutual love and respect built between her and seemingly endless family, colleagues, friends and community members is overwhelmingly clear. Her perspective and gratitude for all that she has received in life is also quite noble. She fought valiantly and maintained notable virtues until her recent passing to go home. Even at the end her positivity and deep enduring faith continued to lift us all. Those who came to know Ivette will feel a great loss. She leaves behind, her beloved husband of 25 years, Dwight Green, her caring children Daniel and Joel, her loving mother, Hilda Soto, and her devoted siblings, Anthony, Linda, Norma and Odille. Funeral services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
