Obituary of Peggy Parell
Please share a memory of Peggy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Margaret “Peggy” “Gee” Parell, 87, of Levittown died peacefully on Saturday February 13, 2021.
Born and raised in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania she met the love of her life and her future husband at a dance while he was attending Lock Haven State Teachers College. Together from that point on, they became engaged shortly after his graduation in 1950 and married in 1952. They returned to his hometown of Bristol, PA and eventually became part of that first group of home buyers in the new development called Levittown. They were so proud of being the last original residents on their street having resided there 68 years.
Peggy was a retiree of the Educational Testing Service in Princeton where she was employed from the late 1960’s until her retirement in 1989. Thereafter her life centered around her family, especially her grandchildren that she adored and spoiled. She loved family gatherings and the Christmas holidays were her favorite time to shine with food and gifts. When her great-grandchildren arrived, she once again had a new spark of love in her eyes and a new generation to spoil.
When not doting on her family she loved to shop and escape to the Atlantic City casinos with her best friend Theresa. Together like sisters, they were always up for mischief and laughs.
Daughter of the late Wollie and Florence Shearer, wife of the late Joseph C. Parell, Jr., sister of the late Nettie Dullen, Bill Shearer, Jim Shearer, Lea Dullen, Dort Powell and Jack Shearer; she is survived by her daughter Kimberly Reilly and her husband Jim, her son, Joseph C. Parell, III and his wife Donna, her cherished grandchildren, Jason Reilly and his wife Jennifer, Shannon Krieg and her husband Mark, Jamie Penning and her husband Steven and Joseph C. Parell, IV and his wife Lauren. Also surviving are her beloved great-grandchildren, Michaela Spooner, Ava and Charleigh Reilly and her first great-grandson Chase Penning.
