Marlene D. Appleton, 50, of Levittown, PA died peacefully at home on Sunday March 22, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Philadelphia she has been a resident of Levittown for the past 21 years. She enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She was a passionate Philadelphia Eagles fan who enjoyed the games with family and friends. Marlene also enjoyed boating and partying with her friends from the “cove”. She was passionate about her workouts and fitness, gardening around her home and especially enjoyed cooking for everyone, especially her famous peanut butter bars whose recipe everyone tried to obtain but she steadfastly said she was “taking it with her”. Daughter of the late Robert Joseph Whims and sister of the late Robert Lawrence Whims, Marlene is survived by her devoted husband Walter Appleton, III; her beloved children, Walter, Caitlin and Madison Appleton; her mother Patricia Whims; her sister Aimee Mathews and her husband Michael and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Due to the current situation regarding gatherings Marlene’s services will be private and she will be buried with a private service in the Tullytown Cemetery.
