BiographyGrace E. Scudder, 91, of Ringoes, died Wednesday at home.
Born in Carversville, PA and a former resident of Lawrenceville, she had resided in Ringoes for the last three years.
Grace was graduate of the William Mc Kinley School of Nursing in Trenton.
She worked as a Registered Nurse at Helene Fuld Hospital and later at the Mercer Hospital.
Grace served in the Army Nurse Corps during World War II. She served in Naples, Foggia, Rome, Arno, Southern France and the Rhineland. She was honorably discharged as a 1st Lieutenant after serving in five major campaigns.
She and her late husband Arthur, managed the Trent Motel for eight years. They loved traveling and camping, and being with family and friends.
Daughter of the late James E. and Grace Michener, wife of the late Arthur W. Scudder and sister of the late James N. Michener, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law William Scudder and Deborah Benedetti, three grandchildren Kimberli Kyles, Lauren Tangredi and Nicholas Benedetti, and three great grandchildren Michael, Nina and Philip Tangredi. Also surviving are a sister-in-law Vivian Michener, many nieces and nephews and long time friends Lois Wagner and Bruce Wallaur.
The funeral will be held on Monday at 11 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville. Burial will be in the Princeton Memorial Park in Robbinsville.
Family and friends may call on Monday from 10 AM until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in Grace’s name be made the American Heart Association, 1 Union Street, Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691.
